1. Winnetu Oceanside Resort | Martha’s Vineyard, MA
The Winnetu was built on the Old South Beach Stop Rail, and the same location served as the Navy, Air, and Sea Base during World War II. After the war it was converted to the Katama Shores Motor Inn, which was removed from the Winnetu in 1999. As it remains, the Winnetu is the only hotel property on South Beach.

Beautiful South Beach is 250 yards on a path through the property and across a street (the main drag, by the way, although there never seems to be a lot of traffic). With the kids, toys, and chairs in the tow, it can feel like a longer walk, but once you get to the scenic beach, you’ll probably forget about it.

There’s not much you can’t do on Winnetu’s massive property adjacent to South Beach, but it’s still only a short drive from Main Street in Edgartown for those who want a bit of the action. from Vineyard. Edgartown is the largest town on the island and is a popular destination for visitors due to the many shops, galleries and restaurants on Main Street. It is also where the Jaws movie was filmed.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that during the summer season the Winnetu is packed with children. Families benefit from the abundance of free activities that come with room prices, not to mention the option to send their kids to the Free Kids’ Club which will keep little darlings occupied for most of the day. Come and dine, there are even babysitters to keep the kids entertained in a separate family area (away from the main dining area). Couples might enjoy a visit to La Winnetu during the cold season, when the property is quieter and a bit more relaxing.

2. The Sagamore | Lake George, NY
The Sagamore is located on a private island called Green Island, right on Lake George in New York State. However, just a 10-minute walk down the road over the water to reach a cluster of restaurants, shops, and groceries, guests should be fighting over the eight dining options available on-site. The property can arrange private hiking and fishing trips in the surrounding area, while the main town of Lake George is a 20-minute drive away, though this will feel much more touristy than the island.

This well-known station has been around since 1883 and is a landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. The sprawling property comprises three different building types (and seven buildings in total) containing hotel rooms and condo units. The Victorian-style main building has a sleek, all American look, painted white with green shutters and lined with floral flowers and traditional lanterns. Inside, decor has a rustic, modern mountain style, combining wooden floors with plush seating and red patterned rugs.

A large patio lined with Adirondack chairs is a popular spot for evening cocktails. Primarily a summer resort, it tends to attract guests between Memorial Day and early fall, although he continues to see his guests in winter. While the hotel mostly sees families and tourist couples, the Sagamore also hosts events and weddings; This can be a problem for regular guests when certain areas are closed for functions. Many wealthy, high society guests have stayed in the past, as well as political figures who include Richard Nixon.

3. Skytop Lodge | Skytop, PA
This is a far cry from your Poconos averagegetaway with heart-shaped hot tubs and mirrored ceilings. The first indication that this is another type of property is the one lane bridge that crosses a narrow section of a pristine lake. From there a long driveway leads to the massive stone colonial-style mansion in the heart of the resort. Built in 1928, the main lodge overlooks Skytop Lake and a property that has all kinds of mountain equipment and activity imaginable, spread over 5,500 acres. The grounds are well maintained throughout, changing to suit seasonal sports and leisure activities, while 18 hole golf course weaves its way around the property.

Descent near the lake are a series of cabins and a trout stream, along a second lodge with rooms for guests who wish to stay right on the golf course. The main lodge lobby is worth spending time in, and features a fireplace and grand piano surrounded by the vintage feel of dark wood paneling, leather sofas, and arched windows. While families make up the majority of guests here, the expansive conference rooms and serene ambience also attract plenty of business travelers and couples.

The Skytop Lodge is located in a serene rural setting away from everything else. A local road connects the small town of Mount Pocono to Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains in about 30 minutes. The area is known for camping, hiking, and numerous ski resorts which generally attract residents of New York and Washington, DC . There are no popular attractions within walking distance of the resort, but the large open-air Crossings Premium Outlets shopping center is a 30-minute drive south and the Camelback ski area is less than 40 minutes south by car.

The Whiteface Lodge will delight even the most weary of travelers. Mature pine trees greet the walkway leading to an authentic timber front door – it looks spectacular, especially at night when year-round Christmas lights give off a festive glow. Skiiers: Don’t be confused by the name. The Whiteface Lodge isn’t attached to the Whiteface Mountain Ski Center – a major attraction in the area (they’re, in fact, 11 miles away). The resort’s location, however, is just five minutes outside of downtown Lake Placid and there’s a free shuttle to and from. Guests have easy access to a large grocery store, Hannafords, for stocking the kitchens (each suite has one), as well as pharmacies, gas stations, and several restaurants and bars. While all of these things are close by, the resort feels far away from the hustle and bustle, especially in the middle of the property with beautiful trees and the mountains providing peaceful views.

Since then, it has grown into one of the Cape’s most luxurious year-round resorts – with rates to match. 7. Four Seasons Hotel New York | Midtown East, NY
In terms of a high-design pedigree, it’s hard to ask for more. Legendary architect IM Pei – the visionary behind the Louvre pyramid in Paris – designed the public spaces for this 52-story tower, with a lobby that has 33-foot ceilings, rigorous symmetry, and lots of limestone. It is unadorned, but it is certainly tall and a bit imposing, as the ascending stairs to the reception desk appear to enter a high court and approach the judge’s bench.

Since there is little sound absorption, the space is quite quiet, with a moderate buzz coming from the backlit Ty Bar and its sultry red lounge. Tender creators and well-behaved guests seated in Mies Van der Rohe-inspired cantilever chairs hang around low tables for silent conversation. All the elements of a typical Midtown New York afternoon are there, but a bright, temporarily emitted projector projected onto a wall and a giant screen breaks the spell. Still, it’s a sexy space and the cocktails are the best, although the hotel scene begins and ends here.

Beyond the reception, everything is commercial, with an upscale hand-held boutique and showcases with luxury branded goods. You may be wondering why several are filled with an impressive collection of Beanie Babies, and here is your answer: They were created by hotel owner Ty Warner.

The Four Season New York is located on East 57th Street, one of Manhattan’s main east / west routes, between Park and Madison avenues. Other upscale hotels and luxury retailers share the block, with upscale bars and restaurants to the west of the hotel, and reasonably priced places along Lexington Avenue to the east. It’s also just over a block from famous upscale Fifth Avenue stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Tiffany & Co.

12. Graduate Providence | Providence, RI

Located near government buildings, the Graduate Providence is ideally located for travelers wanting to see the city’s sights and shopping at the Providence Place Mall.

Providence has always been a bit like Boston’s little sister. When it came to East Coast cities, it was always a question of “Boston or New York?” for travelers. However, that started to change over the years. Providence takes on its full meaning. The capital of the country’s smallest state, Providence is densely populated and full of interesting things to see and do, such as the Riverwalk, historic buildings dating from the pre-revolutionary period, and the oldest Baptist church in America. Not to mention, it is a city easily accessible on foot. Of course, those who are used to a grid system can get a bit lost walking the streets of Providence, which seem to have no rhyme or reason in the way they run.

Although the Marriott Downtown is also housed in a historic building, the Graduate Providence undoubtedly holds the title of Grande Dame of the city. Built in 1922 by the same architects who designed New York’s Grand Central Station, the Biltmore impresses upon arrival with its high coffered ceilings and dark wood paneling in the lobby and mezzanine above. It looks a lot like a big, corporate property.

Most guests here are businessmen, especially during the week and in cooler weather, but the hotel also welcomes vacationing families, visitors to the many colleges and universities in the area, and couples using Providence. as a place of residence while exploring Rhode Island, such as Newport.
