The southernmost town in Istria, located 11 km southeast of Pula, in the northeastern part of the beautiful Medulin Bay. It is considered an ideal place for camping and swimming, but is especially known among athletes. Young people come to Medulin primarily for sporting activities. The beaches at this resort are varied: pebbly, concrete platforms and even sandy.

Medulin is not just a town but an archipelago that includes 10 uninhabited islands that are great for day trips or nudist secluded beaches, especially Ceja, Levan and Bodulaš. You can reach them by renting a boat or ordering a water taxi.

There is a shuttle bus running around the spa. Tickets can be bought from the kiosks at bus stops or from the driver.

Hotels in Medulin

As any other tourist destination, Medulin offers a variety of accommodation possibilities, from camping and hostels to apartments and hotels. The most famous and luxurious hotel in Medulin is the Asta Villa. It is a five-star hotel located very close to the beach, with a panoramic view of the Adriatic Sea. It offers a wide range of facilities and services, including a spa and wellness centre, a fitness centre, restaurants and bars, and a children's club. Other luxurious Medulin Hotels include the Hotel Medulin and the Tessa Apartments. The Hotel Medulin is a four-star hotel located on the seafront, while the Istrian Stone House is a five-star boutique hotel with a rustic stone facade. If you are looking for a more affordable option, there are also many hotels in Medulin that offer good value for money. Some of the best-value hotels in the town include the Hotel Euro, the Hotel Tavcar, and the Hotel Villa Aurora.

Medulin's attractions and sights

Exhibitions of local artists and sculptors can be viewed at the LOŽA gallery (tel.: 095 910 26 95). Throughout the summer, the Medulin Bay can be visited by boat. The boat leaves from Funtana port and arrives at the Golumbera Caves, Kamenjak Cape, the islands of Fenoliga (with a dinosaur footprint), Ceja and Krmeda Cove, where guests are offered a swim. The tour lasts 3-4 hours.

You can hire a motorboat, go sailing, jet skiing, boating or engage in other water sports at the Holiday Beach Hotel (Aquatic Sport Centre tel.: 098 791 384) and at the Medulin and Kažela campsites (tel.: 098 791 384).

Windsurfing is also popular in the resort and there are several purpose-built centres: at the Belvedere Windsurfing Centre and at the Kažela Windsurfing Camp Tsunami (tel.: 098 9 773 334, 098 698 811).

Golf can also be enjoyed in Medulin - both traditional and miniature. Golf club Medulin is located at the entrance to the town on the left, at Vrčevan 9. It has a 6-hole course with dimensions of 120 x 300 metres. Tel: 098 624 694. Mini-golf is available at the Belvedere Hotel and Camp Kažela.

Events

There are concerts in St. Agnes Church in July and August: in July at 21:30 and in August at 21:00. There's also a handicraft festival on Thursdays during these months, selling handmade souvenirs and products. Location: Port.
